Processing Your Personal Data

What information does Hypergram collect? In order to provide the Software and Service, Hypergram gathers and processes the following information:

Registration Information: any information provided when voluntarily registering for use of the Software and Service, including, but not limited to, username and password and e-mail address.

User Profile: any information about the user, filled in by the Hypergram user at their discretion, that is meant to be shared with other users of the Software that can be searched for by other Hypergram users.

Customer Service Communications: any information that is reported to Hypergram about the operation of the system, including bug reports or requests for enhancements.

Log Information: your user contact information, should you choose to share this, to allow for synchronization, and invitations.

location data: In order for location-based features, like Nearby and Live Location, to operate, we use your device location. We only use your location during those features and we don’t store any of your location data. For the best experience, we’ll ask you to give us your background location access, which is all up to you. As long as you give us the basic location access permission, even without the background permission, these features will function well while you are inside the app, but as we said before, for using them outside the app, we’ll need your background location permission. If you share a location in a chat, this location data is treated like other messages in cloud or secret chats respectively. If you share your Live Location in any chat or turn on ’Make Myself Visible’ in People Nearby, Telegram will use your data to display your location to those users with whom you are sharing it, even when the app is closed – for as long as you keep these optional features activated.
